China, POK and Article 370..NCERT changed the syllabus, also took a big decision regarding Khalistan – NCERT change Articl
NCERT Syllabus Changes: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has made major changes in the books of various subjects for the upcoming academic year. Some content related to India-China border dispute has been removed from the Class 12 Political Science book. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the content regarding POK.
NCERT has also added some things regarding Khalistan and Article 370, while some have been removed. NCERT has made many changes in its books and removed sensitive topics. In Chapter 2 of Contemporary World Politics, the existing statement has been changed from the paragraph titled India-China Relations.
Statement of the book changed regarding China
Earlier, the statement on page 25, “However, the military conflict on the border dispute between the two countries has dashed that hope”, was changed to “However, Chinese aggression on the Indian border has dashed that hope.” Is done.
The context mentioned in the paragraph refers to the time when Jawaharlal Nehru was Prime Minister when slogans of “Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai” were raised. The paragraphs in the book deal with the differences arising from the 1962 war over competing territorial claims over the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1950 and the final settlement on the China-India border, primarily in the Aksai Chin region of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
Azad Pakistan is now POJK
Not only India-China relations, but in the 12th class book ‘Politics in India since Independence’, the words “Azad Pakistan” have been changed to “Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir”. On page 119 of the current edition of the book, it is written that Pakistan describes this area as ‘Azad Pakistan’.
Now, the version has been changed to “However, it is the Indian territory which is under illegal occupation of Pakistan called Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK)”. Regarding this, NCERT argues that the changes that have been made completely match the position of the Government of India regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
Khalistani movement removed
Not only this, the reference to Khalistan or the secession movement for a separate Sikh state has also been removed by NCERT from its books. On page 123 it is written, “The resolution was a plea to strengthen federalism, but it can also be interpreted as a plea for a separate Sikh nation”. Now it has been changed to, “The resolution was a plea to strengthen federalism in India”.
Changes in Ayodhya-Babri Masjid chapter also
NCERT has also made some changes in the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid chapter. In this, some examples of demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and Gujarat riots of 2002 have been removed from the books. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the content regarding Hindutva and merger of Manipur with India.
