Major accident in Ahmednagar, people entered the biogas chamber to save the cat; Five died

Mumbai: Five people died while trying to rescue a cat that had fallen into a dilapidated well (used as a biogas pit) in Wadki village of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra late at night. According to Dhananjay Yadav, senior police officer of Nevasa police station in Ahmednagar, ‘The rescue team has recovered the bodies of five of those six people.’

The police officer said, ‘They were all trying to save a cat. A man who descended into the well with a rope tied around his neck survived and was later rescued by the police. He is undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital.
