China may secretly run military project in Maldives, opposition leader’s claim increases India’s concerns – News India Live

China’s secret military project in Maldives : On one hand, Maldives’ China-loving President Mohammed Moizzu has pushed relations with India into the abyss, while on the other, he is picking up China’s loose ball.

Moijju China’s entry in Maldives is becoming a cause of concern for India. Maldivian Democratic Party President Faiyaz Ismail has made a shocking allegation that China may start a military project on an island in the Maldives under the guise of an agricultural project.

The Maldivian government has signed an agreement with a Chinese port engineering company to establish a pre-agricultural economic zone on the island in the northern part of the Maldives. The company has close ties with the Chinese military. This is the same company that built the Hambantota port in Sri Lanka. Since this port is running in loss, China has taken it on a 99-year lease from Sri Lanka.

Maldivian Democratic Party President Faiyaz Ismail says that the Chinese company will not plant trees on Uthuru Thila Falhu island of Maldives. He will work on military projects here.
