During Chaitra Navratri, do not do these things even by mistake for the first 5 days, many difficulties may arise!
In Hindu religion, doing any auspicious or beneficial work in the month of Kharmas is considered inauspicious. Since the festival of Chaitra Navratri starts on 9th April and Kharmas ends on 13th April, there will be a shadow of Kharmas for the first 5 days of Chaitra Navratri. Due to this, no auspicious work will be done in the first 5 days of Chaitra Navratri, but from the sixth day all the auspicious works like havan, puja, marriage, engagement etc. will start.
According to astrology, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped during Chaitra Navratri. This year Chaitra Navratri will start from 9th April and end on 17th April. Auspicious works are done during Navratri, but due to the effect of Kharmas, these works cannot be done for 5 days.
During Kharmas, all types of auspicious and beneficial works stop because doing them during this time does not yield auspicious results. If auspicious work is done during Kharmas, it may have negative consequences later. During Kharmas it is advisable to avoid all 16 Sanskars along with purchases of land, property, ornaments and jewellery. One should also avoid starting any new business during Kharmas.
One should avoid marriage, havan, katha, engagement etc. in the first 5 days of Chaitra Navratri, because many difficulties may have to be faced later.
Why are auspicious works not done?
According to astrology, when the ruling planet Sun transits in Sagittarius and Pisces, this period is called Kharmas. It is believed that the Sun and Jupiter serve each other during this period. Therefore, their influence on the earth decreases and conducting auspicious functions during this period invites obstacles. Therefore, during this time only worship, chanting and penance are done.
