Update on Mohammed Shami’s fitness during IPL, know when will he return?
Mohammed Shami was the highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup 2023 played on Indian soil. But after the World Cup, Shami could not return to the field. Actually, due to injury, Shami has been away from cricket for some time. He suffered an ankle injury and played the World Cup with the same injury. However, Shami had surgery on February 26 and now a big update has come out on his fitness during IPL 2024. He could not play IPL due to injury. Actually, Shami was on bed rest till now, but now he has shared a picture on social media, in which he is seen standing with his legs supported, wearing shorts and yellow T-shirt. Captioning the picture, the Indian fast bowler wrote, “Back on track and hungry for success. The path may be difficult, but the destination is worthwhile.”
When will it come into the field?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India, while giving an update on Shami before the start of IPL 2024, said that he will be out of the Indian Premier League this season. Apart from this, the board also made it clear that Indian fast bowlers will not be able to participate in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in June. No official information has been released yet on when he will return to the field.

After missing the first four matches of the World Cup, Shami was made a part of Team India from the fifth match, after which he played a total of 7 matches in the tournament. In 7 matches, the Indian fast bowler took 24 wickets at an average of 10.70, with his best being 7/57.
