Tankers deliver water to more than 600 villages in Marathwada region
Mumbai: Due to water shortage in Marathwada region, people of more than 600 villages and 178 small villages have to depend on water tankers.
Due to severe water shortage in the last 10 days, the number of villages dependent on water tankers has increased by 168. 637 villages and 178 small villages here are getting water from 979 tankers. A total of 269 villages in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, 21 villages in Jalna and 122 villages in Beed are facing water shortage.
A report by the revenue department said tankers are supplying water to 37 villages in Dharashiv and eight villages in Latur.
The report said there is no need for water tankers in villages in Nanded, Parbhani and Hingoli districts.
