Stock market slips, sets new record of strength

New Delhi. Due to positive global signals, the domestic stock market once again set a new record of all-time high today. But due to profit-booking starting shortly after the market opened, both the Sensex and Nifty indices lost all their gains and reached the red mark. Today’s trading started with a new record of strength. Soon after the market opened, both the Sensex and Nifty indices hit another new record of all-time high with the support of buying. But after this the market declined. After the first hour of trading, Sensex was trading with a weakness of 0.16 percent and Nifty with a weakness of 0.20 percent. During the first one hour of trading, among the stock market’s leading stocks, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Power Grid Corporation, Hindalco Industries and Coal India were trading with a gain of 2.46 percent to 0.74 percent. On the other hand, Shriram Finance, Hero MotoCorp, IndusInd Bank, Grasim Industries and Sun Pharmaceuticals were seen trading with losses ranging from 1.20 per cent to 0.98 per cent.

In the current trading, there was active trading in 2,155 shares in the stock market. Of these, 1,228 shares were trading in the green after making profits, while 927 shares were trading in the red after incurring losses. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 9 shares remained in the green with the support of buying. On the other hand, 21 shares were trading in the red due to selling pressure. While out of the stocks included in Nifty, 14 stocks were seen trading in the green mark and 36 stocks were seen trading in the red mark. Today, BSE Sensex jumped 537 points and opened at the level of 74,413.82 points, creating a new record of all-time high. As soon as trading started, this index jumped to its highest level of 74,501.73 points with the support of buying. But after this, profit booking started in the market, due to which this index started falling rapidly. Due to selling pressure, this index fell by more than 750 points from the upper level and reached 73,730.45 points. After the first hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am the Sensex was trading at the level of 73,761.73 points with a weakness of 115.09 points.

Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty also started trading today at 22,592.10 points with a gain of 157.45 points, creating a new record of all-time high. After the market opened, with the support of buying, this index reached a new all-time high of 22,619 points. But after this the bears put their pressure, due to which this index lost all its gains and reached the red mark. Due to continuous selling, this index fell by about 250 points from the upper level and fell to 22,372.55 points. After the initial 1 hour of trading between continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am Nifty was trading at the level of 22,390.50 points with a weakness of 44.15 points. Amid positive global signals, the domestic stock market started trading on a strong note in the pre-opening session today. In this session, BSE Sensex was at the level of 74,276.09 points with a gain of 399.27 points or 0.54 percent. Whereas Nifty had jumped 135.30 points or 0.60 percent in the pre-opening session and reached the level of 22,569.95 points. Before this, on the last trading day on Wednesday, the Sensex had closed at the level of 73,876.82 points with a decline of 27.09 points or 0.04 percent. At the same time, Nifty slipped 18.65 points or 0.08 percent and ended Wednesday’s trading at the level of 22,434.65 points.
