Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing 11 (SRH Playing XI) & Chennai Super Kings Playing 11 (CSK Playing XI), IPL 2024, Match 18: Sunrisers Hyderabad will be taking on Chennai Super Kings in the 18th game of the ongoing IPL 2024. The SRH vs CSK game is scheduled to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday (April 5).
Both the teams will be eyeing a win to get back to winning ways after losing their last games. SRH lost their last game against Gujarat Titans while CSK suffered a 20-run defeat against Delhi Capitals. So before the crucial game gets underway, we take a look at the probable playing eleven of both the teams.
SRH Playing XI:
Openers: Mayank Agarwal, Travis Head
Mayank Agarwal is likely to retain his spot in the playing eleven even after failing to do well in all the three games so far. In the last game against GT, he was out for 16 off 17 balls. On the other hand, Travis Head failed to build on his 18-ball fifty against MI as he was out for 19 against GT.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed
SRH’s middle-order batters got the starts against GT but failed to convert them. While Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen scored 29 and 24 runs respectively, Aiden Markram was out for 17. Shahbaz Ahmed and Abdul Samad came up with crucial contribution down the order, scoring 22 and 29 respectively.
Bowlers: Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, T Natarajan
SRH could make one change to their bowling lineup for the upcoming game. While Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mayank Markande are looking set to play the game, T Natarajan could replace fellow left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat. Natarajan had a good outing against KKR before he was sidelined with an injury.
CSK Playing XI:
Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad(c), Rachin Ravindra
Both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra failed to get going against DC in the last game and will be looking to bounce back. Both the CSK openers have looked in good touch so far and will be looking to make the most of the batting-friendly conditions in Hyderabad.
Middle-order batters and allrounders: Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, Ravindra Jadeja, Sameer Rizvi, MS Dhoni(w)
Ajinkya Rahane and Daryl Mitchell scored 45 and 34 respectively against DC and will be eyeing another good outing with the bat. Sameer Rizvi was out for a duck but is likely to retain his spot. Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 21 while MS Dhoni smashed an unbeaten 37 off just 16 balls while batting for the first time this season.
Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Matheesha Pathirana, Mustafizur Rahman
Deepak Chahar had a poor outing with the ball as he conceded 42 runs and did not pick up any wicket. He will be looking to bounce back. Mustafizur Rahman picked up 1 wicket but conceded 47 runs while Tushar Deshpande gave away just 24 runs in his 4 overs. Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 31 and will be eyeing another good outing
