Japan deployed missiles on Okinawa island for the first time, giving a strong message to China
Japan’s missile on Okinawa island : China has problems with most of its neighboring countries and this also includes Japan.
Japan is also in no mood to deal with China’s bullying. Japan has now deployed a missile unit on its main island Okinawa Islands to send a strong message to China. Which can be launched from land and target warships.
Due to China’s increasing aggression, Japan has also been forced to increase its security. An event to deploy the missile unit was also held and Japanese Deputy Defense Minister Makoto Oniki said that Okinawa Island is of strategic importance to protect Japan’s interests and its security will be strengthened.
According to media reports, the main task of the unit operating the Type 12 missile will be to keep an eye on Chinese warships passing between Okinawa and Miyako Islands.
The Type 12 missile is equipped with GPS and radar guided systems. Which can attack at a distance of 200 to 400 kilometers. Japan plans to increase the missile’s range to 1000 kilometers by 2026.
The same missile units have been deployed on other small islands adjacent to Okinawa Island, but this is the first time that these missiles have been deployed on the main island of Okinawa.
The people of Okinawa island are worried about the increasing military tension. Okinawa’s governor continues to oppose the deployment of weapons. Because an American military base and other weapons and equipment are already deployed on this island.
Japanese and Chinese ships meet each other every night in the waters around Okinawa. Japan’s concern has also increased because China has also deployed aircraft capable of carrying nuclear bombs in this area.
