Literally Anybody Else’ joins US presidential race. Here’s all you need to know
In a new twist to United States presidential elections, an army veteran and 35-year-old Texas resident Dustin Ebey has changed his name to ‘Literally Anybody Else’ and has decided to run for the polls.
The man, whose legal name now is ‘Literally Anybody Else’, belongs to North Richland Hills, Texas and is a teacher by profession.
The name was changed so that he could express his dissatisfaction with the current presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
After his name change was approved by a judge, a new driver’s license was obtained by him and then he submitted the necessary documents to run for presidential polls.
“This isn’t about me, ‘Literally Anybody Else’, more so as it is an idea. We can do better out of 300 million people for president,” said Ebey, as quoted by Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA.

He accepted that it was a challenge to collect enough signatures to appear on the ballots since Texas law needs 113,151 signatures from registered voters, who did not cast a vote in the presidential primary of either party.
The man has already filed a nomination with the Federal Election Commission. He added that he is “not delusional” and accepts collecting enough signatures to appear on ballots is very challenging.
A third alternative to Biden, Trump?
Dustin Ebey, who is now legally called ‘Literally Anybody Else’, said that people like him, who are tired of a “constant power grab between the two parties” which has no benefit for the Americans, should have some outlet.
According to the man, his campaign is not aimed at him as an individual but is regarding the concept of ‘Literally Anybody Else’ as an alternative choice for the people of America, who he thinks have faced disappointment by the current political parties.

“It’s not necessarily about me as a person, but it’s about literally anybody else as an idea,” Ebey said.
His website literallyanybodyelse.com reads, “For too long have Americans been a victim of its political parties putting party loyalty over governance. Together let’s send the message to Washington and say, ‘You will represent or be replaced.’ America should not be stuck choosing between the ‘King of Debt’ (his self-declaration) and an 81-year-old. Literally Anybody Else isn’t a person, it’s a rally cry.”
