TSGENCO: Uncertainty Surrounding AE and Chemist Exam on March 31st!

Due to the implementation of the Election Code in light of the Lok Sabha elections, securing approval from the Central Election Commission (EC) is essential for conducting the examination.

Although hall tickets are set to be issued via the website from March 23rd, GENCO’s plans are contingent upon receiving approval from the EC.

Statement from TS GENCO:

The GENCO management has submitted an application for EC approval. Candidates will be informed via the Genco website about the final schedule, pending the EC’s decision regarding the exam on March 31st. The GENCO AE and Chemist exam will proceed on March 31st subject to EC approval. Applicants are advised to regularly check the Genco website for updates.

339 Assistant Engineer (AE) Positions

TS Genco has previously announced the recruitment of 339 Assistant Engineer (AE) positions, which are open to candidates with a B.Tech qualification. Final appointments will be based on merit in the written test.

Allocation of Posts Across Four Branches – 339 Posts

TS Genco’s recent notification states that 339 Assistant Engineer positions will be distributed across four branches as follows:

Assistant Engineer (Electrical): General Recruitment (145 Posts), Limited Recruitment (42 Posts)
Assistant Engineer (Mechanical): General Recruitment (74 Posts), Limited Recruitment (3 Posts)
Assistant Engineer (Electronics): General Recruitment (25 Posts)
Assistant Engineer (Civil): General Recruitment (1 Post), Limited Recruitment (49 Posts) Of these, there are 94 limited recruitment posts and 245 general recruitment posts across the four branches.
Educational Qualifications

AE (Electrical): B.Tech in Electrical/Electrical and Electronics Engineering AE (Mechanical): B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering AE (Electronics): B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)/ Instrumentation Engineering/ Electronics and Control Engineering/ Instrumentation and Power/ Power Electronics Salary

Upon selection and finalization of appointments, the starting salary will range from Rs.65,600 to Rs.1,31,220.

Selection Process

The final list of candidates will be prepared based on reservation rules and local cadre considerations, with appointments made from this list. The minimum qualifying marks vary by category:

OC, EWS, and sportsmen: 40% marks
BC: 35% marks
SC/ST: 30% marks
PH category: 30% marks
Exam Pattern

The written examination consists of two sections, each worth 100 marks:

Part-A: 80 marks from subject-related topics
Part-B: 20 marks from English, General Awareness, Analytical and Numerical Ability, Telangana History, Culture, Development, and Basic Computer Knowledge. The test duration is two hours, and it will be conducted in the computer based mode.
