“BJP ensured Assam’s indigenous legal ownership of land, securing future of sons of soil”: Sarbananda Sonowal
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party ensured the indigenous people’s legal ownership of land which has led to securing the future of the sons of soil.
“BJP government provided support and legal security to the claimants as sons and daughters of the soil and protected local socio-cultural institutions, which remained ignored for years,” he said while addressing the party workers meeting in Naharkatia.
The Union Minister also pulled up Congress for failing to act against the poachers of one-horn rhinos.
“It was only in 2016, when the BJP government took charge, that poaching of rhinos drastically came down after illegal settlers were evicted from Kaziranga National Park,” Sonowal said.
Sarbananda Sonowal, who is also the BJP candidate for the Dibrugarh parliamentary constituency, also convened a meeting attended by party cadres from Mandals, Morchas, Shakti Pramukh Kendras, and Booth committees, among others, of the No. 92 Naharkatia Legislative Assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarbananda Sonowal said that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country has been on track towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’, an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
“As party workers, we must ensure that the people of Naharkatia are aware of the various government schemes launched that deliver welfare to the people. The Modi government has always designed, conceived, and executed schemes with the view that welfare should reach the last man in society. This is the wonderful philosophy of ‘Antodaya’ that has inspired the BJP’s policy-making thought process,” Sonowal said.
