Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R & GT Hit Indian Roads With Enhanced Performance & Style

Triumph has added the Rocket 3 Storm R and Storm GT variants to its India website after introducing the motorcycles globally.

The price of the Storm GT is over Rs 22 lakh, while the Storm R comes at roughly Rs 21 lakh (both ex-showroom).

Notably, compared to their standard counterparts, these costs make them around Rs 2 lakh more expensive. Now, the brand’s official announcement and the bikes’ debut at Triumph dealerships should be expected soon.

The Rocket 3 Storm variants are different from their standard siblings when it comes to hardware, engine performance and design.

The power output has been increased from 165 bhp to 180 bhp, despite the displacement being the same at 2,485cc with three cylinders. Additionally, there has been a modest increase in torque output, which now sits at 220Nm.

Triumph has swapped out the old Avon Cobra tyres with new Metzeler Cruisetec tyres and added lighter 10-spoke aluminium alloy wheels.

Both bikes continue to include electronic rider aids like traction control, cruise control, lean-sensitive ABS, hill-hold, ride-by-wire and four riding modes. The bike’s capabilities are further enhanced by optional additions including heated grips, a bi-directional quick-shifter, a tyre pressure monitoring system and a Bluetooth module for the TFT display.

These versions are equipped with basic amenities including a USB charging port, all-LED lighting and keyless ignition. The massive three-cylinder engine will remain fixed to an aluminium chassis.

Both bikes include Brembo Stylema callipers on the front that grasp two 320 mm discs, and a Brembo M4.32 four-piston radial monobloc calliper on the back that grips a 300 mm disc for stopping power.

The bikes are mounted on a 47 mm Showa fork that has rebound and compression adjustments, and a fully adjustable Showa monoshock with a piggyback reservoir at the rear.

The R comes in three colour combinations: Sapphire Black with Granite, Satin Pacific Blue with Matt Sapphire Black and Carnival Red with Sapphire Black.

The GT has the same colour options, but the tank split is different.

The Rocket 3 Storm R weighs 317 kg, whereas the Rocket 3 Storm GT is three kilogrammes more at 320 kg.
