2024 Honda CB125R Revealed: Stylish, Efficient, & Euro5+ Compliant
Honda has recently unveiled the 2024 CB125R for the European market, enhancing its Neo Sports Cafe family’s appeal. Drawing design cues from the impressive CB1000R, the new CB125R offers an upgraded experience while maintaining its core performance features.
This makes the Honda CB125R an attractive proposition, especially for enthusiasts seeking a blend of style and efficiency. Furthermore, the 2024 iteration of the model stands out by adhering to the latest Euro5+ emission standards, making it a greener choice for riders.
Targeted at A1 license holders, which includes young riders aged 17 to 19, this bike fits perfectly within the regulatory framework for 125cc motorcycles. Despite the environmental upgrade, Honda has ensured the bike’s performance remains robust, with a 124.9cc engine at its heart.
Another highlight is the introduction of a 5-inch TFT display, featuring a full-colour screen that enhances user interaction with the bike. This screen, designed to blend seamlessly with the CB125R’s aesthetics, provides essential information like speed, RPM, and fuel level at a glance.
Honda has also worked on improving user-friendliness by further tweaking the usability by incorporating a new select switch on the left. This new switch simplifies the process of navigating through the display options of the motorcycle.
Customization and Performance
Riders can personalize their CB125R with four colour options, ranging from the striking Matte Cynos Gray Metallic to the vibrant Leaf Sea Blue Metallic and Pearl Splendor Red, and the understated Pearl Cool White. Each colour option adds a unique character to the bike, enhancing its on-road presence.
At its core, the CB125R is powered by a water-cooled, 124.9cc engine, capable of delivering 14.75bhp and 11.6Nm of torque. This powertrain, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox, promises an efficient ride, boasting a fuel economy of 45.5km/L. Despite its slightly higher seat height of 816mm, the bike’s dimensions and weight support agility and control.
Looking Ahead: Honda CB125R in India
The CB125R’s sporty neo-retro profile could resonate well with the Indian market. Its success, however, hinges on competitive pricing. In the UK, the 2023 model is priced at £4,249, which is approximately Rs 4.48 lakh. This sets a benchmark for the upcoming 2024 model’s pricing, which will be crucial for its potential launch in India.
Thoughts About The Honda CB125R
If introduced, the Honda CB125R is expected to compete with models like the KTM 125 Duke. That being said, the blend of design, technology, and environmental compliance makes it a compelling option for young riders and those seeking a stylish, efficient motorcycle.
