IPL 2024: Abhishek Porel’s carnage takes Delhi Capitals to 174/9 in 20 overs
Delhi Capitals didn’t take advantage of the good start given by Mitchell Marsh and David Warner. They managed just 174/9 in 20 overs in their first match of IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings.
Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and invited the Capitals to bat first. Warner and Marsh started aggressively and added 39 runs in 3.2 overs before Arshdeep Singh sent back the all-rounder. The T20I captain of Australia amassed 20 runs off 12 balls, laced with two fours and two sixes.

Shai Hope was the best batter of the Capitals as he managed 33 off 25, including two fours and two sixes, but his dismissal broke the momentum. Returning, Rishabh Pant hits two fours during his brief stay at the crease. The left-handed batter scored 18 runs off 13.
Ricky Bhui (3) and Tristan Stubbs (5) fell cheaply. Axar Patel added important 21 runs to the total but was run out to leave Delhi in trouble.
Abhishek Porel, who was the impact player, hit some big blows to take the total to 174/9 in 20 overs. He smashed Harshal Patel for 25 runs in the last over of the innings. He remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 10 balls, with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.
