IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant reacts to his comeback after 14 months
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant is not concerned about his team’s form in the past season as he returned to the IPL on March 23 against the Punjab Kings. DC finished 9th in the points table, with no Rishabh on the side as he was recovering from the injuries sustained in a car accident.
He took 14 months to return to the cricket field after being aided by the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The NCA gave the southpaw a fitness certificate to play in IPL 2024, and the franchise named him as captain.
Before the match, he was seen doing light work as a wicket-keeper.
“I want to enjoy the moment. Not thinking much,” he said.
“I am not worried what has happened with the results in the past. I am looking forward to the ongoing season. We have prepared well for the tournament.
DC are one of the teams that have yet to lift the IPL trophy, and the captain wants to clinch the coveted trophy. He scored 18 runs off 13 balls, with the help of 2 fours, as Delhi posted 174/9 in 20 overs.
The Capitals lost regular wickets, and it was Abhishek Porel’s aggressive 32 off 10 balls that took the team’s total to a respectable position.
