IPL 2024, CSK vs RCB Chennai Weather forecast: All clear for a thrilling start

The weather in Chennai is expected to be clear on Friday, paving the way for a thrilling IPL 2024 opener between home side Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

If the weather forecast is anything to go by, expect an uninterrupted blockbuster at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Both CSK and RCB are renowned for having two of the biggest fanbases in the tournament, setting expectations sky-high for the season opener on Friday. Match number 1 of IPL 2024 will see two Indian cricket icons, MS Dhoni (CSK), and Virat Kohli (RCB), take the field at the iconic venue in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.

The anticipation around the match only intensified after CSK announced Ruturaj Gaikwad as the captain of the franchise. The young opener took over the mantle from crowd favourite MS Dhoni. The Super Kings, in a statement, said that Dhoni ‘handed over’ the reins to Ruturaj, who will make his captaincy debut in the IPL on Friday.

Fans will be optimistic about an exciting clash between CSK and RCB on Friday, with the weather forecast hinting at majorly clear skies throughout the day. Accuweather has predicted an extremely humid day in Chennai on the matchday, something that the massive fanbase of CSK is no stranger to.

The temperature in Chennai is predicted to range between 29-30 degrees Celsius on March 22, which looks promising for an uninterrupted game of T20 cricket.

Despite the match being played at CSK’s home ground, the travelling RCB fans will also be drawing hopes from what looks like a decent weather forecast for Friday’s high-value IPL 2024 match.

The humidity is ranged to be between 74-77 percent in Chennai throughout the span of the match on Friday.
