Indian celebrity spiritual leader Sadguru recovering from brain hemorrhage in hospital
“Sadhguru has recently gone through a life-threatening medical situation. He is currently recovering well,” the Indian spiritual master’s team said in the statement. The spiritual leader had been suffering from severe headaches for four weeks, despite which he continued with his regular engagement, even leading the popular Hindu festival Shivratri, attended by multitudes, at his Isha Foundation in southern India. When he arrived in the Indian capital on Mar. 15, Sadhguru underwent an urgent MRI scan which revealed massive bleeding in the brain, the statement added.
The popular guru leader was hospitalized on Sunday, as his health condition worsened, and underwent an emergency brain surgery on the advice of the doctors. Since then, he has been recovering rapidly and his health has improved significantly. The spiritual leader posted a video on his Instagram account late Wednesday, where he could be seen lying in a hospital bed and with his head covered in bandages. “The Apollo hospital neurosurgeons cut through my skull to try and find something, but found nothing totally empty.
So they gave up and patched it up. Here I am in Delhi with the patched-up skull but a damaged brain,” Sadguru said lightheartedly. News of his health reached India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who wished him a speedy recovery. EFE mvg/sc
