Rohit Sharma Opens Up About His ‘Garden Mein Ghumega’ Remark, Says “Not To Hurt Anyone, but.”

In an exclusive conversation on Team Ro’s Instagram, Rohit Sharma stated, “I enjoyed handling these guys. They enjoyed it as well. Sometimes I say things that get picked up by the microphone. But that’s just me. That’s how I am. Not to hurt anyone, but to ensure they remember they have a job. I was very pleased to see everyone engaged, which was absolutely brilliant. That is what this whole thing is all about, where I am telling them nobody is going to slack off here. At the end of the day, we need to make sure to get the job done.”

Rohit Sharma’s on-field behavior came into focus during the India vs England 2nd Test 2024 in Visakhapatnam on February 2. The stump microphone captured the Indian captain using strong language after the 31st over when Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes were batting with England’s score at 143/4. The video of Rohit’s comments has circulated widely on social media platforms.

Despite this incident, India’s performance in the Test series has reinforced its stature as a dominant force in Test cricket. Currently leading the World Test Championship table and occupying the top spot in the ICC rankings, India’s success under Rohit Sharma’s leadership underscores a blend of skill, strategy, and teamwork.

Sharma is now shifting his focus to the Indian Premier League (IPL) season, where he will represent the Mumbai Indians (MI) and continue to showcase his prowess on the cricket field.
