Ankita Lokhande: Not in any rat race, want to do meaningful films
The actor spoke to IndiaToday.in an exclusive interview and said that she wants to be a part of meaningful films.
Ankita shared that she’s chosen a career path where she wants to associate with meaningful cinema. “I don’t want to be seen everywhere. I want to exclusively be part of certain things. That’s how I want to roll, that’s how I like things. I want to do very different kinds of roles. That also gives me confidence that I can go through such challenging parts. I don’t want to be part of a rat race. I don’t want to run. I do not have a problem with people who do that, but it’s not meant for me. Whatever comes my way, I will pick the best out of the lot. I am very choosy and pick my work wisely. I may make mistakes, but that’s going to be my decision only,” the actor said.
During the same interview, Ankita also spoke about working in the industry for two decades. Her journey began when she participated in India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj in the year 2004: “When I look back, I can’t believe it’s already 20 years. I feel amazing that I did such great work and found success. And it’s not just me, but everyone from that lot is doing so well. And we also feel connected like a family. I feel like patting my back and saying shabash.”
The actor also dismissed that it was a struggle for her as she said, “When you are working with passion towards something you love, you are unbothered about everything happening around you. You don’t stress about being an outsider, being so raw, all you want is to pave your way ahead. Even now, when I think of my way ahead, I don’t know how it would be. But I have faith in my talent and my craft. I will pick parts that empower me and that satisfy me.”
Starring Randeep Hooda in lead, ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ will release on March 22.
