Modified Cars In India: Skoda Rapid With Lamborghini-Style Scissor Doors
The first-gen Skoda Rapid debuted in India back in November of 2011 and experienced a facelift in 2017 which gave it a new shaper look. Offered in both 1.0-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines, and 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine options, the Skoda came with multiple variants for the public to choose from.
In a YouTube video posted by Maher Galat, a Skoda Rapid with Lamborghini-styled scissor doors was recently seen. Maher Galat introduces the owner of the Rapid who states that this is the first Skoda sedan to have Lamborghini-styled scissors doors.
The owner of the modified Skoda Rapid stated that a lot of people have said that scissor doors cannot be installed on a Skoda vehicle, however, they have been proved wrong with this modified model of the Rapid.
The Skoda Rapid seen in the video is running a stage 2 tune from Code6 Tuners in Mumbai that helps it put out 143bhp. The tuned Rapid also comes with a custom exhaust system making it scream.
When it comes to the exterior of the modified Rapid, apart from the Lamborghini-styled doors, it is equipped with 10-spoke BBS alloy wheels which cost Rs. 1.52 lakhs for a set and a fibre front splitter with pinstripes.
In order to be able to fit scissor-styled doors on the Skoda Rapid, the owner had completely custom-fabricated door hinges made which enabled him to install the door with a double bolt system. Unlike other vehicles with Lamborghini-styled doors, this Rapid can be driven when the doors are up.
