Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his Lok Sabha election campaign with a rally in Hoshiarpur, Punjab on Thursday. The campaign for the seventh and final phase of polling on June 1 ended yesterday evening. After the announcement of the election schedule by the Election Commission on March 16, Modi held 206 rallies and road shows across the country till Thursday evening, that is, four to five rallies and road shows every day. During the election campaign, Prime Minister Modi also gave a total of 80 interviews to regional and national media houses. In this way, he created a record of marathon campaigning.
During the 2019 general election, the Prime Minister held around 145 rallies and road shows. In this way, he held more rallies this time than in the previous election. However, this time the campaign time was 76 days, whereas in the elections held five years ago, this time it was 68 days. Modi gave an average speech of 45 minutes in every election rally. In this way, he spoke for about 155 hours. Not only this, he also answered more than a thousand questions during the interview.

When the Election Commission announced the elections, Modi was on a political tour of South India. He covered all five states in three days from March 15 to 17. BJP is trying to brighten its fortunes in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. In the 2019 general elections, BJP did not get any seat in these three states. Apart from this, BJP is trying to maintain its dominance in Karnataka and increase the number of its seats in Telangana. How successful Modi's campaign will be will be known only on June 4 when the election results will be declared.
Even at the age of 73, PM Modi left the opposition leaders far behind not only in the number of rallies but also in the distance covered across the country. While Modi held four-five election rallies and road shows in a day, his opponents were seen doing only two-three election programmes. Modi was the star campaigner of his party and remained popular among the voters.
